Yes! You can recreate an old DS-160 and then update it before resubmitting.
If your DS-160 has a material error or your circumstances have materially changed, you may need to update the DS-160 for your case.
There is a shortcut that can help you save time, as detailed below:
- Go to this website: https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/
- Choose application location of the previous DS-160
- Enter alphanumeric code
- Select "Retrieve an application"
- Enter your old DS-160 confirmation number
- Enter your bio data and answer the security question on your previous DS-160
- Select "Create a new application" option and accept the terms/set a new security question
- The new DS-160 that appears will have a lot of the info from the prior DS-160 pre-loaded. You will need to update the details that are blank, as well as correct anything that was inaccurate on the last submission.
- Once complete and error free, you can submit again. The new + old DS-160 confirmation pages will need to be submitted at your visa interview.
