It depends!
What is visa interview waiver (VIW)? VIW is a program established by the US Dept of State to save time on visa applications for "low-risk" applicants. It requires applicants to gather all required documents and send them in through a designated courier service or drop them off at designated location. It typically takes between 5-12 business days to complete adjudication on a VIW case.
You may be eligible for VIW if the following applies to you:
- You are a citizen or resident of the country where you are applying
- You've never been refused a US visa in the past
- You've never gone through additional security screening
- You've never needed a waiver to obtain a US visa
- You have held a US visa that was valid at some point in the last 48 months
- You have attended a US visa interview in the past
In order to confirm your eligibility for the VIW program, you need to read the corresponding consulate's website and book an appointment. You should receive a confirmation letter after booking that provides further VIW instructions. Follow them carefully!
And keep in mind that Corstange Law assists with VIW applications: Consular processing assistance.
